1973 – 2023: SUSTAINABILITY OF A MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THROUGH CRISES. AMBIDEXTROUS SOCIO-ECONOMIC STRATEGY FOR VALUE DEVELOPMENT

Résumé

Upon the publication of the Socio-economic Management Treatise in French (2022) and English (2023), a retrospective analysis will be conducted, spanning over five decades of providing consulting to companies and organizations. The primary premise of this symposium is the notion that value creation occurs across several dimensions, encompassing both the individual and society, and reciprocally. This symposium presents an opportunity to examine the socio-economic strategy model considering recent developments in the business environment, drawing upon the extensive research conducted by the ISEOR team since 1973. Additionally, it offers a comprehensive understanding of the underlying principles of this model, serving as a strategic framework for the organization. This framework facilitates critical analysis by practitioners, researchers, and individuals from diverse nations and economic ideologies, enabling them to see the future trajectory of the company and its ability to generate sustainable value. Socio-economic management, which was first introduced by Henri Savall in 1973, is grounded in the principle of change as a basic tenet for effective management and administration. Companies and organizations are characterized by their dynamic nature, necessitating a continuously evolving approach to comprehending their impact on economic and social well-being. The organization is inherently interconnected with the concept of innovation, extending beyond just financial worth to encompass anthropological principles. The function of the individual is pivotal in the production of socio-economic value within the organization. The project, movement, and creation, which are manifested through the actions of individuals, have a crucial role in driving economic and social activity, aligning with the ideas put out by the French Economist François Perroux. The organization fosters a cohesive atmosphere that encourages the stimulation, growth, and satisfaction of individual efforts towards the generation of value.
